What Do You Love About Your Silhouette?

Hi Everyone -

So the question is "What do you love about your silhouette?" Don't worry, I don't mean your personal, physical silhouette. Me, I have a love/hate relationship with that silhouette. The silhouette I am referring to is the Silhouette Cameo. I find it is much easier to love!

Looking around the January crop, I noticed how many of us were actively using our personal die cut machines. Since last Fall, several of you have purchased the Silhouette Cameo. For some, they may be still in the box. Others have taken a look at their machine and done a few cuts. Some of you have not stopped learning about your new machine since you first got it out. I loved seeing all the experimentation and sharing of ideas and information at the crop between our crafting group! Many Cameo owners also have Cricut machines as well. Whether you love your Cricut, your Cameo, or both, it is undeniable that the world of paper crafting has changed dramatically with the addition of personal die cutting machines.

We know these machines can do so much. Whether it is a Cameo, Cricut, or some other die-cutting machine, tell us what you love about your machine. Comment below to tell us the following:

Oh My! I let the hustle & bustle of the Holidays take over! I didn't realize how much time has actually passed since I last posted. I once again apologize, but I know you all understand. I thank you for that :-). With that being said...My holidays were absolutely wonderfully blessed! I enjoyed my family and friends so much!!! I hope all of yours were just as wonderful!

I'm not sure if it is possible to be in love with an inanimate object, but if it is...I'M HOOKED! We sell out of them before I can get the shipment back in each time! I'm Thankful for YOU!

Fall is here and the weather is changing. We are looking forward to the holidays and we tend to take a moment to reflect on things we are thankful for. Although I'm thankful for many things year round, I tend to forget to say it as often as I should. I'm thankful for my Family, my extended Family and Friends. Our Scrappin' Family has grown so much! We are entering our third year (It's hard to believe!) and I think it's pretty safe to say that I have the absolute BEST Friends and Family around! Thank you all for your continued support and love! I love ya'll!

I'm going to stop before I get all mushy and start crying...again! LOL! You all know how I am! We have lots of great updates for you, too! We received our first shipment from Silhouette America!!! Our fall yard sale was a huge success thanks to all of YOU! There were tons of fabulous deals and the company was truly awesome! I love our scrappin' family!!! Our TOP SELLER was Valerie B. with sales totalling $388.00!!! Her hubby will be thrilled to know that she cleaned out her scrap room...we won't tell him she'll be looking for all of the new goodies to replace what she cleaned! LOL!

The "J" Word

I love that our favorite scrapbook store is called Scrappin' Happily Ever After. It is the perfect play on words for the ending of a great story. Within our card making and scrapbooking, we are in essence telling part of the story of our lives. Through cards we make connections with the key characters in our life. With scrapbooking we are preserving the plots and events of our lives. This made me think of how we "tell" the story. Of course we use pictures and beautiful elements to convey information and a mood. In addition we also must use words. This reminded me of the often dreaded "j" word -- journaling. Some find journaling to be intimidating, perhaps because it seems so permanent, it is personal, or hard to word things just so.

Often at the crops, I see people working on various projects. One thing I noticed was how often people work on scrapbook pages but do not add journaling. It is not uncommon to hear "I'm going to add the journaling later." For scrapbookers, it seems one of the most challenging parts of the page is the journaling. I cannot count the amount of times I have heard people say (including myself), "I hate my handwriting."

This made me think of how we are often our own worst critic. When you see other people's pages, do you think "Gosh, their handwriting stinks!"? What do you think when you see your parents' or grandparents' handwriting? Isn't it neat to see what their writing looked like, whether it was an example of beautiful penmanship or whether it took some deciphering to figure out their version of script?

Of course, there are pros and cons to having both typed and handwriting elements. Typed journaling is often neater. It can be formatted in a font to go with the theme of the page from something professional and clean, to something more whimsical and fun. Typed journaling also allows us to fit more text in a smaller space. Written journaling has a much more personal and homemade feeling to it. For certain projects that we are doing, we may want this feeling expressed through the way we do our journaling. Consider the audience of the project. This may help you determine the best type of journaling.

Challenge yourself to think about journaling a bit differently:

- Consider drafting out your journaling comments on scratch paper before you do the page to help set the tone of the page layout and elements you use.

- What elements need to be included? Who? What? Where? When?

- Do not limit yourself to full sentences. Bullet lists can often convey information for many pages.

- If you tend to type your comments consider adding some handwritten elements. For example, type out the larger journaling block/story, but add in smaller handwritten elements. You can also type out journaling, but leave out spaces for key words you want to highlight and add those in your own handwriting.

- Use a pen in your Cricut or Silhouette machine to add some whimsical journaling elements that are not typed or handwritten.

- Journal along a curvy border strip or around the edge of one of your page elements.

- One of Ivy's cool techniques in the classes is to use coordinating strips of papers placed around the page for journaling elements. This is a great way to incorporate handwriting in smaller doses. :-)

Scrappin' Happily Ever After has many tools that can help you present your journaling in it's best form.

- S.H.E.A had the best gel pens. Use a fun pen color instead of sticking to the same old black pen. :-)

- Several lines have coordinating journal spots and tags you can incorporate into your pages.

- Use some of the lined, ledger type papers to create multiple journaling blocks in the sizes you need. Think outside of the square box and use cool punch shapes with lined paper. Punch the edges of journaling pieces with a cool detail.

- Tiny Alphabet Stickers: There are many lines of tiny letters now that can be used to create entire sentences.

- Use the Dymo label maker for that old school look.

- Stamp journaling blocks, use a time/date stamp, or use tiny alphabet stamps to create sentences or bullet lists.

- Use templates to draw or paint journaling spaces onto your page.

- Use decorative brads of other embellishments as part of a bullet list, add stamps or sticker elements within your handwriting to bling up your journaling space.

No matter what journaling techniques or methods you use, make sure you go back and add the journaling if you do decide to leave this part of your project until later. I am sure we have all had times where we thought we would remember details, only to forget them later. If you are going to postpone the official journaling, jot down notes or draft out your journaling on a large sticky note to keep with your page or sets of pictures as you get them printed. That way you are sure to capture all the sentiments and memories you intended to when you add your final journaling elements.

OK ladies it's officially NFL season again, and the kids are back in school! For some of us this means extra crafting time as we lose our husbands to the couch, remote & TV. I personally am OK with it! He never notices the shopping bags, additional UPS shipments or that I haven't cooked a "real" meal...so in my book...I LOVE the game of FOOTBALL! Our September calendar is up and we're even starting to add some of our October dates! If you haven't signed up for our September or October crop dates...HURRY! Of course it is created in true Dedra fashion...sprays, spritz, paint, distress, embossing, crimping, binding, ripping, stamping....did I mention spraying??? LOL! You know the routine...the fun doesn't start until the Mister Huey's Mists come out! Make sure you catch this class on September 24th! Join us for our Mommy & Me Crop that day, for a SUPER SATURDAY!

Summers End

Summer is coming to a close and school is back in session. How fast Summer goes! Scrapping Happily Ever After had many great classes and crops over the Summer, but with so many pictures from Summer still to scrap, make sure you Check out the
Summer Layout Class on Wednesday, August 31st!

There are two class times for a great Summer layout that will work for 20-30 pictures plus journaling space! Also, do not forget to check out the calendar. Several new classes were added recently including layouts, Cricut 101, crops, and more!

So, what's more exciting than Summer CHA that was the highlight of the last blog post? The new products and papers CHA that are coming in each week, of course! Some new products just put on the shelf include several of the Authentique paper and embellishment lines. If you have not seen them yet, stop by. All the lines are gorgeous in person. Not only are there beautiful papers, but the embellishments are very usable and set at a great price point for those that like to have it all. The die-cut embellishments are even double sided to have a phrase or element on the front and a pattern on the back, which is a great way to get the most from your products.

Check out the lovely yellows and grays in this "Blissful" line from Authentique? This paper has a great texture to it. Don't miss the cool sheet with all the decorative rulers on it and the great damask prints! How cheerful, fun, and vibrant is this?

Love, love, love, the little letters and word stickers. The letters are great for smaller titles and also highlighting key phrases that need to be bigger than typical journaling. The words can become some of your journaling!

Summer is wrapping up and will be gone before we know it. It is never to early to look ahead to Fall and the Holiday season.

For Halloween, Authentique has the "Glowing" paper series. Some of these papers have such vivid designs they look like they should feel different than typical paper. Not only does this set have some great Halloween papers, but there is also plenty of neutral uses for the cream, black and orange designs.

For those working on their Christmas cards and holiday projects, do not miss the "Wonder" line for the holidays this year. The blend of greens with a true vibrant red and cream is lovely. It is a cross of vintage and contemporary with all the current elements paper crafters want to have in their projects right now!

CHA is in FULL Swing!

It's that exciting time of year in the crafting world again! Summer CHA is in full swing in Chicago and I have been up late nights checking out all of the new lines, tools, & supplies! So much to order...so little time! I must admit that I do have a few favorites. Would you like me to share? I sure hope so...because I'm going to anyway!

For those of you that know me personally, you know that I have always been a strong Provocraft supporter. I am a true "Cricuteer"! BUT, I'm very excited to say that I am extremely excited about the advances that companies are taking with our personal die cutting machines. The new "Silhouette Cameo" has just changed my mind on the previous versions of the silhouette! The most exciting thing to come with these retailers is that they have CHOSEN to WORK WITH companies like SCAL and other SVG file companies to allow us more creative options! LOVE IT!!! The new Cameo is also Silhouette's new 12 inch model that will also cut fabric, flocked vinyl, heat transfer vinyl & more! I can see our fall class line up already! Oh...did I mention that I will also begin to carry products for all of the silhouette owners out there! EXCITING!

It was brought to my attention that although we constantly have something going on, that I have neglected all of my blogger friends. Please forgive me! I won't make excuses...I'll just give you all of the latest scoop! I mean, that's what you really want ...right?!

When each new order arrives my sweet hubby asks the now infamous question..."Where are we going to put that?" I usually smile and tell him what a wonderful job he does reorganizing so that there is a space for everything I buy (good...right?!) :-). Well...we finally ran out of space! I had to go on another spending excursion with display units! We are almost finished with our newest venture and I have to admit, I'm very happy! If you haven't stopped in, come see what we've done! Faux Sure!!

Hello Everyone!! Bethany here. I'm so excited to be back with my latest class, Faux Sure Cards and More. I would love for you to join me on Saturday at 10:30. It's proving to be quite challenging to develop a class with a new baby, but it was nice to put my creativity hat back on! I'm looking forward to seeing some usual faces, but also meeting some of the new faces I've seen on blog posts and facebook albums that I haven't had the chance to meet yet. Let me give you the low down on the projects for the class. We'll be completing 3 cards and a box.


Faux Pressed Flowers

This fun technique takes Primas to another level. We'll be using Mr. Huey's Color Mists on the flowers and to dye some fabric for the ribbon. This was my first spin with the Mr. Huey's and I'm in love. I still love my Glimmer Mist, but I love the matte finish of the Mr. Huey's Mists.


Faux Tile

The Faux Tile technique is a fun technique that will give your stamped images a new look that can also be used on photos and scrapbook pages just as easily. Once you have the basic knowledge of this technique, sky's the limit!

Box and Card

This fun little box has it's card attached as the topper. The box has a concealed magnetic closure. The fabric flower topper is so much fun to make. The same technique can be used to make a brooch, hair accessory, or added to a necklace for a fun "wearable" craft.

National Scrapbook Day...Month!

Can you believe that National Scrapbooking Day is almost here again?! Well, last year my hubby came home from Afghanistan on National Scrapbooking Day! Of course I closed to meet him, and we had a good laugh that the military would send him home on such an important day in our crafting world. Alas, it has been a year (boy- time sure does fly) and we get to be together and do some fun things to celebrate this year.

We couldn't pin it down to just one day with every one's schedules, so we decided to celebrate a little all month long! We are starting this weekend! On Saturday, April 30 we will be having fun introducing a new line by My Mind's Eye...Stella and Rose! We will have a FREE Make N' Take for the first 25 people beginning at noon! If you haven't seen this line...It's AWESOME!!! Here's an adorable layout that was created using the Stella and Rose line...

Join me (Ivy) later on Saturday, April 30 at 3:00 p.m. for our Mother's Day Project Class! There are still a few spots left and it makes a beautiful gift. The class includes the frame that you will be crackle painting yourself! Take a look :-)...

I have a ton of exciting news! I can't wait to share it so I decided to stay up and finish the post before getting a little shut eye. We'll start with updates first. We had a wonderful class this past Sunday and I really enjoyed kicking back and doing what I love most...a layout! It turned out great and it was really fun using Basic Grey's new line "Life of the Party". It's fun & colorful and can be used in so many different ways. My title was "It's Official...Someday came too fast". It's going to showcase my high school senior because I'm already having a hard time with him being so close to leaving home. I made the page very universal and everyone made their own "It's Official" title. Some were It's Official...I Love You, It's Official...you're Toothless, It's Official...I Love Disney, It's Official...the World's Cutest Twins, etc! How Fun! I will be teaching another layout project just in time for Mother's Day! Look for it National Scrapbook Day (April 30th)!

I am even more excited to tell you all that we are coming full circle and are elated to bring you all our newest line of classes...PHOTOGRAPHY & PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS! That's right! Better photographs mean better pages/projects! We spend so much time (and money) to create beautiful pages and sometimes the photo isn't what we hoped it would be. It's time to learn what to do to get the photo we want. It is supposed to be all about the photo anyway...right?! LOL! Even if we do dress our children up in outfits to match our paper!!! LOL! We begin our photography classes on May 1 with an Intro to Digital Point n' Shoot Photography. We will also be offering Digital SLR classes and Photoshop Elements Classes! How exciting is that???!!! Our Semi Annual Yard Sale was a HUGE hit this past weekend! It was serious business for crafters here! Our line started forming at about 6 a.m. EST. Our doors opened promptly at 8 a.m., to over twenty excited shoppers! They came, they saw, they bought!!! We had great deals and super items thanks to our 23 consignors! We ran out of tables...we were elbow to elbow...the excitement was overwhelming at times, but it just kept getting better! It was so much fun to see all of the great deals, the newer scrapbookers found, and it was just as much fun finding deals, for the more seasoned, in our craft.

It takes a lot of work and effort to put one of these sales together and I have to thank each and every one of our consignors for going through their "stashes", and deciding to part with some of their prize possessions. I'm a paper hoarder...but if you ask my hubby...I hoard it ALL! LOL! I also have to thank Valerie B. for helping me organinze everything all week long! My hubby and children always put in a lot of work, and once again, they were faithfully by my side helping every step of the way, on Saturday. Thank you ALL!!!

When we host the yard sale there is usually one seller that might stand out from the rest, due to the high volume of sales. This sale is no exception! There were certainly quite a few sellers and quite a few were serious contenders for the "TOP" spot, but there was one that we would like to congratulate on an EXTREME JOB WELL DONE...PAM ROBERTSON CONGRATS!!!! :-) See you ALL at our Fall Sale!

I know...I know...it has been crazy and I am trying to locate extra hours in the days that keep passing by so quickly! I must tell you all that, although I have not been the best blogger, I have been working diligently! LOL! We had a SUPER February crop & card swap! It was so much fun! My hubby even let me crop that day (I never have the opportunity to crop with friends). He ran the crop with the kids and it was FABULOUS! We scheduled next month's crop on March 19. I'm not sure if he is gonna give me that day off, too...but we'll see! LOL! That's right! You are NOT seeing things!!! We are proud to announce our first ever COUPLES CLASS at S.H.E.A. on Saturday, February 12, 2011! There are only a couple of spots left and the guys seem intrigued! They are sure to have fun and just in case we begin to lose them, with creating our "He said...She Said" Wood Veneer album,we have a wonderful Italian catered meal all included within this couples mini retreat! This class will be taught by myself and my hubby, and is not meant to start any conflicts...so remind hubby of your important dates this week! LOL! It's will be a game of who remembers what...mmmm...and exactly HOW they remember it could differ! LOL! It's sure to be loads of fun :-).

Starting February 13, 2011 we are introducing our NEWEST LINEUP OF CLASSES! Each month my instructors and I will collaborate, to bring you a variety of classes that will introduce you to various techniques, new products and craftables!

I never set New Year's Resolutions because, in my mind, they are always made to be instantaneously broken. Although I would like to blog more often, lose weight, get organized, etc. I will just have to take it one step at a time :-). Nonetheless, we are off to a FABULOUS YEAR! Barring the inclement weather, which has made for some great scrapping weather, the first few days of 2011 have been filled with excitement!

CHA is right around the corner and I have been dreaming about all of my online shopping carts! LOL! I really can't wait to start working with all of the new lines and "toys" coming out! 2011 is going to bring more blog challenges too...so be on the lookout for those!

Our calendar has great classes and crops that you just won't want to miss out on! Remember to sign up early because space is limited (even though we would love to have EVERYONE!). I was able to get a little scrapping of my own done over the holidays (can you believe it???). I thought I would share my niece's page...A Star is Born! It was created using products from Webster's Pages, Pink Paislee, Prima, K&Co. We all have "old" scrapbook items in our scrap spaces. Just because they are VINTAGE :-) doesn't mean they aren't still great! Try mixing some of your "old" items with some of the new lines and items that are out! I've become so used to cutting my own letters with my cricut, that a lot of my "vintage" chipboard is feeling unloved. My friend, Dedra, made me remember that my "vintage" chipboard needs love, too! :-) Besides...I bought it for a reason...right? LOL! Yes, I'm a "collector", too! Anyway, here she is...

I still can't believe that another year has somehow slipped right by me once again. It's been another amazing year with all of you right there by my side. So much has happened in the last twelve months...one of which my hubby returned from Afghanistan. I'm truly thankful to have him home again and continue to keep all of our other soldiers, sailors & airmen and women in constant prayer. Thank you all for such an amazing year.

The 31st is coming fast...Do you know what that means? Well let me tell ya...we can get past inventory & the extra taxes and get to MORE ORDERING! You know...the FUN stuff!!! LOL! My baskets are already full and CHA isn't even here yet!

Christmas Crop Updates!!!

Oh My Goodness!!! If you missed the crop this year, you'll want to make sure you make it next year! LOL! We had soooo much FUN! Santa certainly made hi stop here! We gave away about $2000 in PRIZES!!! I LOVE MY JOB! Let's see...We awarded TWO Brand New Cricut Expressions, a 14MP Kodak Digital Camera, A Mini Camcorder, a Floor Model OTT Light, a 1 Hour Massage at Massage Envy, Three $25 Gift Certificates, A Slice Bundle, A DVD Player, Cricut Cartridges, Stamp Sets, A Totally Cool Tote & MORE!!!

We ate till our bellies were full, laughed, cropped and sometimes cried tears of joy! What a perfect way to enjoy the last crop of the year. I absolutely love putting on these events and being able to enjoy spending the time with such a wonderful group of ladies. We packed in 28 ladies and I have been approached on more than one occasion to expand. I don't know what 2011 holds, but I know it's all in God's hands...and he's never steered me wrong! :-) I promise I'm not going to start getting all mushy (cause I'm already tearing up while I'm typing! LOL!), but I just want to say Thank YOU!

Nope...I don't sleep! LOL! Please let me start by saying that I hope everyone had a blessed and wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. I spent a glorious week relaxing with my family. I am thankful that they support me and my dream the way they do. Thank you all for becoming my extended family and supporting me and sharing your lives with me the way so many of you do. I really do love you all!

Amazing Holiday Classes!

We have been having a blast with classes! Our holiday classes were supposed to start the gift giving season, but after the advent calendar class... all I heard were scrooges! Noone wanted to give theirs away! LOL! I guess they will all need to make another! ;-) I have two kits left if you would like to make this beautiful calendar to count down the days till Christmas. Each miniture box will hold sweet treats, a small treasure or maybe even a new diamond ring! (hint hint ;-) ) Remember to stop in this week for supplies, all the NEW merchandise STILL coming in, A class, and or our BIG EARLY BLACK FRIDAY EVENT this Friday!!!

The ladies had a great time with Vince teaching his first class this past Sunday. I was "banned" from being in the classroom, but the ladies said he did a fabulous job! I saw their pages and heard all of the "oohs" "ahhs" and the CLAPPING! What do I have to do to get APPLAUSE???!!! LOL! I'm glad everyone had a great time...and yes ladies, you blew his head up soooo big that he has already started sketching his next class! ;-)

By request I added my cracked glass vintage holiday card class to this weekend schedule! If you love vintage as much as I do, then join us Saturday for this fun technique class! Don't forget to check the calendar for class updates! You never know when we might add another class by request!

Vince's project has been under lock and key! I was finally permitted to take photos! LOL! Some of the ladies even convinced him to add alcohol ink techniques into his class! I think he did a fabulous job and know you all will have a great time on Sunday. If you haven't signed up already you can call or stop in to sign up before Sunday, October 17. Our Fall Yard Sale was a success thanks to all of our consignors who took the time to clean out their craft rooms AND all of our shoppers who came out to find those fabulous treasures! There were some great buys and my hubby says that I might have been one of my best customers! LOL! My hubby thanks you all for helping me add even more ;-). Our big seller was Pam R.! Happy Fall Everyone! The holidays are quickly approaching so I am working on our calendar for the holiday season. I am hoping to have the majority filled in soon. We still may add something here or there, but it will give us all a chance to plan ahead. I'll let you know when I have most of our updates done :-).

Please bring cash for the sale & be there EARLY for the best deals!

We do have a few new things we are offering now! We started our Mommy & Me Crops last month and had a great group! We are looking forward to our next crop scheduled for October 29...It's a PJ crop! We are also offering CRICUT CARTRIDGE classes! This month's class is being taught using the "Give a Hoot" & "Cindy Lou" cartridges on Sunday, October 17. Yes, ladies...Vince is teaching it! The class is half full already, so get your spot if you haven't already! Our Teen/Tween crop is growing & we are grooming the next generation of croppers! It's adorable to see them work.

The paper bag album class was a blast! We used the Halloween in Wonderland Paper by Graphic 45. I'll post a few pictures here, but I'll post the entire album in our albums on Facebook.

We just left the store less than an hour ago! My Hubby and kids worked tirelessly to help find places for my addiction! Alas...we ran out of space! LOL! My hubby laughed all evening and asked me where I was going to put everything. He never once asked me to stop ordering! Of course he knew I wouldn't listen ;-). I posted some store pics on Facebook, but I have to show you why my Dear Dear Hubby is still laughing at me...

Little Yellow Bicycle came today...That had to wait, too...

There are still several shipments here that we didn't have time or space for!!! AND we are expecting shipments from Studio Calico, Best Creations, Webster's Pages, Prima, The Girls Paperie, We R Memory Keepers, Basic Grey, Graphic 45, & probably a few others I have forgotten about! ANNIVERSARY!

We are celebrating ONE YEAR on Saturday, September 4!!! I want to Thank you all for such an amazing outpouring of support. I feel so blessed. Our family has grown so much over this past year and we've laughed and cried. I'm not just talking about things with the store. "Customers" don't laugh or cry with you you while your hubby is deployed. Or take your kids under their wings...that's "FAMILY" :-). So to all of "MY FAMILY" out there...THANK YOU & I LOVE YOU ALL DEARLY!!! We appreciate all of your continued support & can't wait to see what the new year will bring! If you aren't part of our family yet...EVERYONE is WELCOME! :-) We would love to welcome you home, too!

I thought it would be fun if we had a mini challenge that EVERYONE can participate in! I have been looking, shopping, looking, shopping, shopping looking! It's so much fun! Sometimes I see things that you don't, but I LOVE having you all help me, because a million eyes are better than just TWO! LOL! You ladies have brought me wonderful companies like Studio Calico! I would have never known about them, but I am soooo glad I know now! I have already placed my order and they are shipping mid September! WOO HOO!

Today we had a visitor all the way from Australia! Her name was Tracey and she found our store from one of YOUR blogs! How cool is that?! Thank you :-). We have extended our arms as far as Germany, Britain, Afghanistan, Canada, & now Australia! I know there's more (please forgive me if I didn't post), it's just exciting and wonderful to share and connect with so many around our beautiful world! Tracey allowed me to take a photo with her so I just wanted to say "Thank you for coming in Tracey & Welcome to our Family!".

Tracey is our newest family member all the way from Australia!

I will be updating our calendar and sending out e-mails by next week! CHA is this week and I'm SURE you would rather I use my late night hours to place NEW ORDERS...RIGHT?! ;-) I've already started and the fun is only just beginning! My hubby is even getting in on the action. He's ready to start teaching so ladies get your glue sticks out! LOL! ;-) I really enjoy having him home. :-)

We had so much fun at our Christmas in July crop! It was a fun filled day with games, food, prizes, food, family, food, cropping...and did I mention...FOOD? LOL! Follow us on facebook to see all of the pics!

We gave away a ton of prizes and would like to thank Geri of "Geri's Bazaar" for donating a personalized Cricut Expression Tote! Our new crop space was fabulous & you can now reserve an entire 5 ft. table if you prefer a little more room than our normal 3-4ft. Those spots are extremely limited so if you prefer more space call or stop in really soon!

We had a 12 Days of Christmas Challenge and had some amazing entries! The participation and "Creativity" were fun all on their own! We had a very close race between two of the entries although there were so many more that deserve a prize...even if some of them were for very "special" reasons! LOL! It was all in FUN! Our top two entries were made by Shelly B. & Debbie P. Both of their entries are absolutely AMAZING! Each of the ladies were kind enough to allow us to "borrow" their entries so that you can come by & check them out! They both agreed that if you would like to "scraplift" their items, they would feel honored...just give em' some credit when you might be asked where you got the idea ;-). Debbie is a BRAND NEW scrapbooker & did far beyond a fabulous job. This is her very first scrapbook page she has ever done by herself!!! WOW! I see DESIGNER in her! :-) All of us who know and love Shelly know she has some magic little fingers, but she really outdid herself this time! This box is made completely of Bazzill & Graphic 45's new Halloween line! No template...all done here while cropping! KUDOS ladies! That's talent! Our winner of the challenge was Debbie P. and none of us could be happier for her :-). We look forward to many more challenges and fun with friends. It's been a HOT HOT summer so far! We had a great time at our last crop, but the heat was unbearable! Well, no fear! I ran out and bought a 23,500 BTU Heating & AC unit, 10 New Tables, an upgraded Wi-Fi Super router & chairs! Ok...you ask what do the tables, wi-fi & chairs have to do with the heat??? Absolutely NOTHING! It's just when I get on a shopping kick...I can shop online, home depot, best buy or anywhere to curb my insatiable appetite for shopping! SO...WHY NOT??? It's all about comfort & style :-).

We've updated our July calendar and we're hoping to get August out before August actually begins! LOL! So make sure you click the link to the right to check it out! Where does the time go??? I have so much to update! The yard sale was so much fun! It went without a hitch thanks to my wonderful hubby who had everything running in that organized military fashion ;-). The ladies didn't mind waiting for him to help them and theyb helped him learn his way around a few more scrapbooking supplies! It was a win for everyone.

Our big yard sale winner walked away with credits totaling $593!!! WOW...and yes, part of that was just FREE money! We gave quite a few bonuses away to our wonderful consignors. Start gathering your items for our FALL sale NOW! We would love to give away MORE FREE MONEY!!! Just ask us how! :-)

Our big May Crop was a BLAST! Everyone seemed to enjoy the Fried Turkey Wings & Legs, Grilled BBQ Ribs, Chicken, Sausage, Hamburgers & Hot Dogs! WE ATE GOOD! We just needed a snuggie and a pillow after that! Games, prizes & fun with friends...who could ask for anything more?

Welcome Home!

Hubby is finally home! It was a joyous reunion & a complete surprise to our kids ;-). Some of you saw the hints...a scrapbook store CLOSED on National Scrapbook Day?! LOL! I promised it was for a good cause. He's planning on giving me a hand while on leave...we're going to hold off on him teaching classes anytime soon :-).

Some of the ladies gave him a hero's welcome before class this past Sunday. Bethany is a pretty good cook, too! She baked a giant peanut butter cookie...his favorite! Kim had a beautiful banner made and set the "plan of attack". I truly love my Scrap family. Thank you to everyone that has kept our family in your thoughts & prayers. I am so excited to introduce my scrappin' family to my other half! I'm ready to open this next chapter! Let's get Scrappin!!!

Garden Variety Scratch n' Sniff Album Class

We're getting in gear for May! Bethany has created an adorable album using Cosmo Criket's new line, Garden Variety. Remember back in the 80's when you would stick all of those scratch n' sniff stickers everywhere? I had some that were "scratched n sniffed" so much that the pictures were gone! LOL! They were my favorites with Lisa Frank running a real close second! Well, we're bringing the 80's back! This adorable album will teach you lots of really cool techniques that you can use in your crafting, scrapbooking & cardmaking! Check out our calendar for this class and MORE! May - National Scrapbook Month!

Oh my! Did another month go by already??? Well, I'm sure many of you may have noticed...I'm CLOSED on National Scrapbook Day! LOL! Trust me...it's for a GREAT cause ;-). So...since I'm closing on that very special day...I'm going to make it up to you...with an ENTIRE MONTH! Hopefully you will forgive me and stop in to SEE my "GREAT CAUSE" :-).

I am getting new product out as quickly as it comes in...ok-almost-LOL! Next week we will have MME Quite Contrary & Lush lines out! They are SIMPLY GORGEOUS! You are probably wondering why I love to walk the festival...those of you who know me...THE FOOD OF COURSE! LOL! WOW! It's 2010 already! Can you believe it? I am so excited to share everything we have in store for this year...but not quite yet ;-) LOL! I promise it's exciting though...so stay tuned!

Our FIRST CROP of 2010 has been scheduled for Saturday, January 16 from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. You don't want to miss it! We have sooo much fun! We are beginning to fill our January & February Calendar. Although it is not completely updated we are filling it with quality versus quantity. Cricut Classes, Stamping, Cards, Scrapbooking and more! I will have the calendar updated shortly...PROMISE! LOL!

I have also been asked if we could start a Bunco group. I'm game, but would like your feedback on Scrappin' Happily Ever After's Bunco Babes. Let me know if you or anyone you know might be interested.

Cricut Christmas Crop!

We have a fabulous day packed with Food, Fun & Prizes. I have been asked "What do you get for $25?"...

Food is an all day event...always! That's where I get my model like figure (NOT A WORD!). Fruit punch and iced tea are provided all day at no charge. Breakfast usually starts with coffee & international creamers, coffee cake, donuts & more. We quickly transition into lunch mode (I have some true chefs in my group...even if they won't admit it!). We have salads, sandwiches, cookies, cakes, pies, dips, crock pot meals & of course...MORE! Even MORE food comes out...and we just call one of the plates we load... "Dinner"! LOL!

I have many different games and prizes planned for tomorrow! We usually play a few games, but tomorrow is even better! NO ONE will be leaving WITHOUT AT LEAST ONE DOOR PRIZE! Coal will only be distributed if you look like you are NOT having fun! LOL! We play games like...let's make a deal, Scrapper's Bingo, Show Me, etc. Yeap...all for really cool prizes! I can't wait to give away tomorrow's goodies!!! Did I mention that there are several hundred dollars in giveaways tomorrow???

Everyone will be receiving a FREE RUDOLPH PAPER PIECING make n take! Bethany will be teaching a FREE gift card holder class! 12 hours of more croppin fun than you can handle! Santa's elves will be on hand if you have gifts that need wrapping, too! You also receive a 10% discount on all of your purchases for the day! It averages out to about $2 an hour & you'll probably get that back in prizes & discounts! WOW!

Games will be played throughout the day. Prizes will be given away throughout the day, too!

Bethany's FREE GIFT CARD Class will be at 3p.m. Supplies are included in your very low price of...Nothing! ZERO! ZILCH! FREE! It's our version of the stimulus package! LOL!

It's In the Box with Bethany!

Hello everyone! Just when I think I'm getting caught up time speeds right past me AGAIN! As always, I have much to update...so let's get started!

Bethany's first class had a fabulous response! She had some of my favorite troublemakers...oops! I meant favorite friends ;-) in her class and she still came back! LOL! There was such an overwhelming response to her class! There are a few things that Bethany and I are going to streamline for future classes (you know...work the bugs out :-) ) I can't wait to share those details...we've been working on them...and I know you will all be VERY PLEASED! We appreciate your support and patience. We Promise it will be worth your wait ;-).

Bethany will be teaching again this Sunday. She has created a beautiful project that you DO NOT want to miss! This can be interchanged for so many different things. This class is called "It's in the box with Bethany". There are only a couple of spots left!

Before I forget let me include a supply list reminder for those coming...

You will be using a versamark pad & metallic silver embossing powder. These will be provided for you, but there were some customers that expressed interest in bringing their own. This is fine, but is certainly not required.

Our next Kid's Craft Class is this Saturday from 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. The children will be making gifts to give this holiday season. An adorable tote decorated with velvet puffy paints, a glittered photo frame & a mini suncatcher all for just $10! Take a few moments to finish up a little shopping if you like! A snack is also provided free of charge :-). we do ask that parents remain with children under 6 years of age. The class is for ages 4 - 12. Call or stop in to register!

Our next 12 hour crop is going to be a BIG ONE! It is called our 12 Hour Cricut Christmas Potluck Crop! It will be held from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. on Saturday, December 12. We will be Cropping, Eating & Having a Blast! I have games and fabulous door prizes set up ready to go home with YOU! Some of the prizes include...a CRICUT JUKEBOX ($90 value), the NEW CRICUT OLD WEST CARTRIDGE ($90 value!), A Digital photo keychain, Paper Packs & MORE!!! Clearly Christmas Acrylic Stamp & Card Class With Bethany!

Say that 5 times fast! LOL! I am so excited to announce our newest team member - Bethany! She is a very talented young lady and I know you will be just as excited as I am to have her!!! She has created a fabulous stamping technique & card class scheduled for this coming Sunday! Guess what? It's an AFTERNOON CLASS! That's right! It starts at 1 p.m. so we can all enjoy service in the morning and a relaxed day of crafting in the afternoon! I know I know...I'm excited, too! Sign up early! She already has several people signed up & space is limited.

Bethany will be guiding each of you through stamping techniques using those sometimes dreaded acrylic stamps. YES! YOU CAN STAMP TOO! She is going to show you how, but it doesn't stop there...Stamping, Wet Embossing, Distressing! BUT WAIT...THERE'S MORE! (Ok, I just had to say that...I know I know...I'm a goofball!) Yeap! It's true! I'm CERTIFIABLE! LOL! I attended a Copic Certification Class today in Columbia. Sally was a fountain of knowledge on these FABULOUS liquid gold markers! I think I have a NEW favorite toy ;-). Now I just need to add that compressor to my Christmas list! ;-)

I met new friends and actually met up...finally...with old ones! My good friend Kimm met me there all the way from Pennsylvania! She will kill me...but...she makes THE BEST TEAR BEARS!!! We had a ball and only wish we had more time to hang out. She'll be back though...we're already planning our next getaway...CHA maybe! ;-) It's amazing how life is just one big circle :-).

I hated closing today, but I can't wait to show you what we have to come! It was certainly worth it! See you soon!

We are having a BLAST! I'm packing our calendar with FABULOUS FUN classes to help get the holidays started! This is the best time of year and I am so thankful to have wonderful friends to share in my joy this holiday season.

Tina taught a great class this past week with a pretty fabulous group of ladies! Thank you Tina. We are even more excited about the holiday planner class upcoming this TUESDAY! My cracked glass vintage card class was a lot of fun to teach. the ladies all came away with some really cool cards to start the holiday season. There's still time to sign up for some of our upcoming classes. Check out our calendar of events today!

We had a great time on Saturday! We cropped...ok...everyone else cropped! LOL! We ate...and YES! I ATE...and ATE! LOL! The food was FABULOUS! Thank you so much ladies...for the extra 5 lbs. I gained! LOL! If you're looking for a great place to hang out, crop, talk & of course eat...please join us in December! You won't want to miss it! Not ONLY do we have a great group of ladies, but it will be our last crop of the year & if you've been nice...or even if you've been naughty...my Santa bag will be overflowing with some great goodie give aways! ;-)

We are gearing up for the holidays here at Scrappin' Happily Ever After! This is my favorite time of the year! I am so excited about our upcoming classes! Princess Tina will be joining us to teach a few FABULOUS classes, too! Click the link to our calendar for times, dates & prices!

First she will be teaching a "Post it Pals" Class. This class will show you how to create wonderful handmade post it gifts, for friends and family, for the holidays! You will create three different post it note holders! These make GREAT STOCKING STUFFERS, TOO!

Tina's Holiday 2009 Planner is a great organizational tool to use while shopping this holiday season. Just in time for BLACK FRIDAY, too! There's a spot for EVERYTHING! Come stamp, score, & create with Tina! :-)

Cory will be creating gifts for parents/grandparents at Our Kid's Craft Class this month! Come make a re-usable decorated shopping bag, photo frame & sun catcher!

Flower Soft Class! This Sunday!

I am so excited to offer this class! This is an amazing NEW product that is just AMAZING to work with! The possibilities are endless. I know I have to eventually let you all out of class (LOL!), but we had to do a few different projects ( I just couldn't resist!). Pictures DO NOT do these projects justice...but it will give you an idea :-).

We will be creating a 6x6 3-Dimensional holiday card, a bookmark and a 12x12 scrapbook page using a new line from Webster's Pages! All for just $20!!! I only have 4 spaces left!!! Class will be This Sunday (October 18, 2009) from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Hope to see you there!
